Re(in)novating Training for Trainers in Digital Youth Work

Are you a youth worker, trainer, or educator eager to enhance your skills in digital youth work? If so, we invite you to apply for the long-term Training for Trainers in Digital Youth Work (June 10-15, 2025), taking place in Belgrade, Serbia.

About the Project

The Re(In)Novating project is a collaborative effort to foster innovation and quality standards in digital youth work. Project partners are: Backslash (Spain), Libero (Serbia), CONNECT International (Belgium), MOVE IT (Greece), CCF France (France) and Mladi Zmaji (Slovenia) The Long-Term Training for Trainers is an initiative designed to develop and strengthen a sustainable digital youth work ecosystem. Through this training, we aim to equip youth trainers with competencies and tools that will empower youth workers to embrace digital transformation effectively and inclusively.

Training Structure & Phases

The Long-Term Training for Trainers aims to support 24 selected participants with the competencies needed to train and support youth workers in effectively engaging young people through digital tools and platforms. The training program consists of multiple phases:

  1. Online Preparation Phase – Participants will receive the access to the DigitalYou platform for self-paced online learning with which they can prepare for the in-person training in Belgrade. 
  2. In-Person Training – Using non-formal education (NFE) methods and a structured curriculum, this phase will provide interactive, hands-on learning experiences taking place in June for 5 working days in Belgrade, Serbia. 
  3. Mentorship Phase – Each participant will be paired with a mentor (one of the ToT trainers) for guidance and feedback as they apply their learning after the training. 
  4. Piloting Phase – Participants will put their knowledge into practice through small-scale “practice project” organising a short online training session, testing methods learned during the ToT until the end of September 2025. 
  5. Assessment & Follow-Up – An evaluation process will assess participants’ competencies and readiness to serve as digital youth trainers. Afterwards the participants will have the opportunity to become members of the Pool of Trainers (PoT) of Connect International.

Who Can Apply?

We are looking for youth workers, trainers, and educators who:

  • Have experience in youth work and are motivated to deepen their expertise in digital youth work.
  • Want to develop competencies in designing and delivering online youth work activities that are safe, inclusive, and impactful.
  • Are committed to participating in all phases of the training, including online preparation, in-person training, mentoring, piloting, and assessment.

  • Working Language: English
  • Travel and accommodation: Organizers will cover all costs related to travel, accommodation, and food.
