MoveIt is proud enough to enter the first phase of “ACROSS – Age: Connecting & Revitalizing thrOughSportS“, a project supported by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, where youth organizations and sports clubs from Greece (MoveIt and A.C. Panorama), Serbia (NGO Libero and B.C. Gro-Basket) and North Macedonia (NGO Idea and S.C. Aex Delfini), with MoveIt being the leading partner of the Consortium, are joining forces to promote sports as a means of intergenerational dialogue and foster intergenerational understanding and lifelong learning through sports.
The project will start by mapping the capacities of youth organizations active in sports and sports clubs in the involvement of the elderly in the training programs of children/youth academies, as well as the challenges/barriers in active participation in sports from the perspective of the elderly and will continue with developing evidence based methodologies for intergenerational training programs. Finally, the partners will use these recommednations in advocating for the importance of intergenerational dialogue through sports towards all relevant stakeholders.
The first transnational kick-off meeting for partners was held in Skopje, North Macedonia, in June 4th to 7th, where partners had the opportunity to finalize the project’s aim and specific objectives, map their own capacities and current practices and define the scope of the research that will serve as the basis for the mapping and methodologies development.
Stay tuned for more!
