On June 18th MoveIt took part in the Social Affairs Event organized by the Municipality of Thessaloniki at the City Hall. The event was an open cycle of information, dialogue and social consultation, with the key message “Active Society – Equality in Practice”. The goal was to shape a modern and effective social policy framework that responds to the current needs of citizens and new social challenges.
In the framework of this event, MoveIt delivered a workshop for children and young people focusing on addressing violence in and through sport through enhancing emotional competences and resilience. The workshop was attended by young people and children of all ages, together with their guardians, who had the opportunity to learn by doing in an experiential journey towards a more peaceful and inclusive society.
The activity was spotted by Arsis – Association for the Social Support of Youth who invited MoveIt to share more about this initiative as well as about the organization’s overall work and actions on the podcast series “WebRadio Workshops with ARSIS”, hosted on Star Classic WebRadio.
In this podcast, coordinated by Vasiliki Fitoka, we had the chance to talk about our work, our main aim and mission and discuss how youth work, non-formal education and experiential learning can have a big impact on young people’s lives and empower them to become more human-oriented, active and resilient citizens.
