Simulation of a European Parliament Plenary Session – January 2026

MoveIt, in collaboration with Mandoulides Schools, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the support of the European Parliament Liaison Office in Greece and the Representation of the European Commission in Greece, successfully organized the European Parliament Plenary Simulation on January 15th and 16th of January 2026.

250 students  from high schools across Greece and the Greek Diaspora had the opportunity to take part in the event, which aimed to simulate the procedures of the European Parliament. This experience enabled students to gain an in-depth understanding of democratic processes, develop their critical thinking skills, and acquire substantial knowledge regarding the functioning of European institutions.

Within the framework of the Simulation, students were assigned to ten committees, each of which drafted and proposed a bill for voting. Through questions, rebuttals, and constructive, meaningful dialogue on individual articles, the committees ultimately approved – following a voting process – ten bills addressing contemporary and pressing issues.

It was with great pleasure that we observed the students’ creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to parliamentary procedures. Their active participation and ability to collaborate once again highlighted the importance of such educational initiatives, which foster a culture of dialogue and cooperation and strengthen young people’s connection to the values and principles of European governance, reaffirming our commitment to offering opportunities for learning and development through participation.
