CONNECT International has published the Book of Standards for Digital Youth Work, developed within the Re(In)novating Digital Youth Work project and co-funded by the European Union.
The publication offers a practical, rights-based framework for youth workers and organisations delivering online, hybrid and digitally supported youth work. It covers ten standards, including:
- Access, inclusion and equal participation
- Youth participation, co-creation and empowerment
- Digital youth work design and educational quality
- Digital competence and support for youth workers
- Ethical selection and use of digital tools and platforms
- Online safety, privacy and safeguarding
- Relationships, interaction and community building online
- Evaluation, learning and impact beyond numbers
- Digital rights, AI and algorithmic awareness
- Organisational responsibility, strategy and sustainability
Each standard includes indicators, practice examples and a self-check tool, so organisations at any stage of digital development can use the framework to reflect on their practice and plan improvements.
