From October 15-18, 2025, representatives of Connect International joined the “Amplify, Don’t Quantify” symposium at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, co-organized as part of the Re(in)novating Digital Youth Work project.
The two-day symposium brought together 30 participants from across Europe, including project partners Curiosité-CCF, Backslash, Move It, Libero, Mladi Zmaji, for intensive discussions on reimagining the future of digital youth work.
The event focused on:
● Policy frameworks and quality standards for digital youth work
● Ethical considerations and safeguarding measures for online youth work
● Development of concrete policy recommendations for European and national levels
● Integration of digital youth work within the broader European Youth Work Agenda
Participants engaged in interactive sessions, panel discussions with policy officers from the European Commission and Council of Europe, and collaborative workshops to develop practical quality standards and policy proposals. The symposium emphasized meaningful, values-driven approaches to digital youth work that prioritize inclusion, participation, and ethical technology use.
This symposium aligns with Connect International’s commitment to advancing innovative youth work practices and strengthening European collaboration. The outcomes will contribute to establishing recognized quality standards for digital youth work across Europe, ensuring young people benefit from safe, inclusive, and empowering digital spaces while preserving the core values of non-formal education.
